Who are we?
Hi! We’re Sanne & Chris, a travel-loving couple from Utrecht with a passion for exploring the world. Our journey together started in 2022 with a spontaneous city trip to Portugal, and we’ve been hooked on traveling ever since. Nearly three years later, we’ve explored countless destinations and created memories to last a lifetime that we share on our blog: Little Black Compass!
Even with our full-time jobs, we seize every opportunity to discover new places. For us, travel is all about proper preparation, uncovering hidden gems, and fully experiencing different cultures. From crafting detailed itineraries to climbing volcanoes in the middle of the night —we’re enjoying every step of the way.
On this blog, we share our travel tips, stories, and photography for fellow adventurers who like to hit the road well-prepared. About Sanne
My passion for travel started when I went on a solo trip to Canada at the age of 17. The feeling of freedom and excitement to explore a new country is something indescribable. For me this blog is a creative outlet and excuse to learn more about photography and video editing. What I like most about having a blog is that when I spend hours researching the best spots, or get stupidly excited over making itineraries and complicated timetables, I can share this with others!
About Chris
I’ve been traveling from an early age. As a child, I went on road trips with my family through the United States and New Zealand, and I also lived in Aruba for three years! On my travels, I like being in nature and am happiest when hiking on a mountain trail with views of canyons and waterfalls. I also really enjoy city trips, especially trying the cuisines of different countries and learning more about the history and culture of a place. When I’m not on the road, I work as a software developer, and help improving our website.
